How to Make Solar Eclipse Glasses
DIY Plans for Safe Solar Eclipse Viewing
Looking for a unique way to enjoy the upcoming solar eclipse? Why not make your own solar eclipse glasses? It's a fun and easy project that you can do with materials you probably already have around the house.
Materials You'll Need:
- A piece of aluminum foil that is a bit larger than the opening of the tube
- A small hole in the center of the aluminum foil
- A smooth piece of aluminum foil
- A pin or thumbtack
Instructions:
1. Cut a piece of aluminum foil that is a bit larger than the opening of the tube. 2. Poke a small hole in the center of the aluminum foil. 3. Place a smooth piece of aluminum foil over the hole. 4. Flip the paper over and use a pin or thumbtack to poke a small hole in the foil.
Tips:
* Make sure that the holes in the aluminum foil are small enough to block out the sun's rays. * Use a dark piece of paper for the back of the glasses to reduce glare. * If you're wearing glasses, make sure to put the solar eclipse glasses over your regular glasses.
Safety Precautions:
* Never look directly at the sun without proper eye protection. * Solar eclipse glasses should be used only during the solar eclipse. * Do not use solar eclipse glasses if they are damaged or scratched.
